The Details

During Texas’ war for independence from Mexico, some Texan volunteer soldiers occupied the Alamo. A few short months later, a Mexican force began a siege of the fort. This went on for 13 days before the Texan’s were taken down. Those nearly 2 weeks of battle become symbolic to Texans’ of their heroic actions to resist oppression. Later that year, they won their independence. “Remember the Alamo!” is not just a spoken phrase. Today, it is engraved on a 1 oz. piece of .999 fine silver, with a design that was inspired from the 1934-38 Texas Commemorative Half Dollar. It’s as if you can hear the battle cry and feel the Texan’s grit on this monumental coin.
